Richard Lloyd Parry

Richard Lloyd Parry is the Asia editor of The Times and Sunday Times. He grew up in Merseyside and has lived in Tokyo since 1995. He has reported from more than 30 countries, including Ukraine, Iraq, Myanmar and North Korea. His books include People Who Eat Darkness and Ghosts of the Tsunami, about the 2011 disaster in Japan, which won the Rathbones Folio Prize. He has been named the UK’s Foreign Correspondent of the Year and been awarded the Marco Luchetta Prize.
