Presidential hopeful Yoon Seok-youl draws anger with dog meat comments
One of the leading contenders to be South Korea’s next president has been vilified over one of the most controversial elements of the country’s traditional cuisine — the butchering and eating of dogs.
Yoon Seok-youl, a well-known pet lover who is seeking the presidential nomination of the conservative opposition People Power Party (PPP), has been denounced by animal welfare campaigners for defending the practice of breeding dogs for slaughter.
