Inside Gaza, where strikes are wounding haunted paramedics

The call came in to the operation room, summoning the paramedics to the scene of a bombing on the road running from Gaza City to the south.
Pushing through the crowds, they found cars and trucks filled with the dead and wounded after a missile strike on evacuees obeying the order to relocate south.
“There were dozens and dozens of wounded, still in their cars, some of them dead and burnt beyond recognition,” Ahmed Yousif al-Loh, a paramedic, said. “The trucks were full of people who were fleeing as they had been told to but now they were all dead.”
