Formula One
Formula One is the highest level of single-seat professional motor racing. The inaugural Formula One World Drivers’ championship was held in 1950. Each season consists of races, known as Grands Prix, which take place at venues around the world on both purpose-built tracks and closed public roads. A points system is used to score drivers and the manufacturers of the cars, determining two annual championships.
