If the Great Britain Davis Cup team had any hopes that Novak Djokovic might be feeling a little tired at the end of a long season, then these have been dashed over the weekend in Turin. The 36-year-old from Serbia claimed a record seventh ATP Finals title with two of his finest performances this year.

What a difference a few days can make. On Thursday night Djokovic was reliant on a Jannik Sinner victory over Holger Rune to progress through the group stage to the semi-finals. As it turned out, Sinner, the world No 4 from Italy, did him a favour, only to end up the latest of Djokovic’s many conquests this season with a 6-3, 6-3 loss in Sunday night’s final.
