Ludvig Aberg continued his inexorable rise as he won his first PGA Tour title at the RSM Classic at Sea Island in Georgia on Sunday night. In five months as a professional, the 24-year-old Swede has also won on the DP World Tour, been part responsible for the largest winning margin in a Ryder Cup match, and has made all of golf giddy at his promise.

Justin Rose has called him a stud. Old college allies went for “Ken”, as in Barbie’s good-looking beau who never causes any trouble. After finishing with two rounds of 61, he is undoubtedly a star in waiting and, given that he has yet to play in a major, it will be fascinating to see where this goes in 2024.
