Vital deliveries of western munitions to Ukraine have dropped off since Israel launched its operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, President Zelensky has said.

“Our deliveries have decreased,” Zelensky told reporters, referring to American 155-millimetre howitzer shells used to resist Russia’s invasion, adding “they really slowed down”.

“It’s not like the US said: we don’t give Ukraine any. No! It’s just that everyone is fighting for [stockpiles] themselves,” the Ukrainian leader said. “This is life. I’m not saying that this is positive, but this is life, and we have to defend what’s ours.”
