The Premier League may be forced to delay a landmark £915 million settlement between the Premier League and the lower divisions that had been due to be confirmed on Tuesday.

Top-flight clubs are meeting to hear a proposal on a “New Deal” for football, but some want a decision on how much each Premier League team should contribute to the six-year settlement before a final agreement is announced.

A number of club chiefs also want to find out the value of the domestic broadcasting deal from 2025 to 2029, which is expected in early December, before committing to the settlement.
