An Irish journalist for Fox News has been killed in Ukraine in an incident that seriously injured a British colleague.

Pierre Zakrzewski, a London-based 55-year-old cameraman, was working near the capital of Kyiv alongside correspondent Benjamin Hall when they were injured.

Oleksandra Kuvshynova, a young Ukrainian producer and fixer, also died from injuries sustained during the attack.

Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, said it was likely the news crew “came under mortar or artillery fire” from Russian forces. Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott told employees on Tuesday that Zakrzewski had died while Hall, 39, remained in hospital.
